Organic photovoltaic cells, solid electrolyte batteries, plastic pollution, mercury, water quality, sustainable building materials... “The culture of exchange is part of our university’s history, its scientific identity, and its future. Whether it is a question of strengthening ties with local public, private, and non-profit actors, consolidating our exchanges with cross-border institutions, forging new relationships in Europe through the UNITA alliance and its Geminae network, or maintaining privileged partnerships with targeted institutions around the world, 2024 will remain a year of cooperation for the University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour. (...)
This approach was also the one that prevailed when L’Initiative was created in January 2024. Born out of informal meetings that began in 2022, this new association brings together six French universities committed to societal transformation, all of which have been awarded the I-SITE (Science-Innovation-Territories-Economics Initiative) label: the universities of Nantes, Lille, Clermont Auvergne, CY Cergy, Gustave Eiffel and, of course, the University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour.
Beyond its main objective of actively contributing to public debate and responding to the challenges posed by the UN’s sustainable development goals, the Initiative is also the expression of a concerted approach aimed at promoting the positive impact of the actions deployed over the last ten years by our respective institutions within the framework of the I-SITE label. This confirms that we are more committed than ever to working alongside local communities to advance together on the path to excellence.”
