Christophe Pécheyran, a research engineer in analytical chemistry at the Institute of Analytical Sciences and Physical Chemistry for the Environment and Materials (IPREM) in Pau, is one of the co-authors of an archaeological article published in the June 25, 2021 edition of renowned Science Magazine.
Entitled “Middle Pleistocene Homo behavior and culture at 140,000 to 120,000 years ago and interactions with Homo sapiens,” the study shows that Middle Pleistocene Homo mastered stone and tool production technologies previously known only to Homo sapiens and Neandertal.
