Job description:

The Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour is recruiting a European Project Manager in charge of the implementation as well as all the administrative and financial follow-up of the MSCA-COFUND EDENE project, recently funded by the European Commission.

The European Doctoral Programme in Energy and Environment (EDENE) is an ambitious project offering quality training to 30 international and highly skilled Ph.D. fellows in the field of Energy and Environment, for a 5-year period. The project manager will be hired one year before the project starts.

Working with the project coordinator, the directors of the UPPA’s two doctoral schools, and the European Project Office of the Finance Department, the project manager to be hired will be in charge of:

  1. the management of the project
  2. the administrative and financial monitoring of the project
  3. the communication of the project

In regards to the management of the project (A), she/he will:

  • assist the coordinator in supervising the project implementation
  • act as an intermediary between the European Commission and the University
  • comply with the obligations in the grant agreement
  • follow and update (endorsements) the contract documents.
  • inform and advise the partners on all legal aspects
  • be in charge of the calls integral management for the recruitment of the doctoral candidates within the project’s framework
  • follow the production of deliverables and periodic reports

As for the admlinistrative and financial monitoring of the project (B), she/he will:

  • elaborate all types of documents related to the project (calls, guide for applicants, guide for evaluators, templates, deliverables, reports ...)
  • support the researchers hired in the project, in collaboration with E2S UPPA Welcome Desk
  • prepare consortium meetings
  • follow the expenses and the production of financial reports, in relation with the UPPA Finance Department
  • make sure that any substantiating document is prepared and filed in order to anticipate an eventual audit

Finally, in terms of communication (C), she/he will ensure the communication around the project (calls diffusion, maintenance of the project’s website and pages in social networks, organisation of social and scientific events, representation of the University in events to publicize the project and its activities ...)

 

Required skills:

  • Master degree or equivalent diploma, including training in European project management
  • Experience in European project management is appreciated
  • Good knowledge of EC management rules in the framework of the Horizon 2020 programme and more specifically of Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions
  • High proficiency in French and English, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of the operating rules and administrative procedures of a public research organisation
  • Mastery of communication tools (project website, press releases ...) and office automation tools
  • Ability to summarize the European administrative procedures
  • Team spirit, ability to work in a multicultural context
  • Adaptability and communication skills
  • Autonomy, organizational skills, professional conscientiousness, reactivity
